Is there any rhyme or reason to why we do what we do in life? A question for the masses. Facing off against four people for a newly made and announced championship in Pride Pro Wrestling. Deacon Thomas sits inside an empty ring, a dimly lit arena, the arena, the Showare Center where Phenomenal will take place. His placement is dead center of the ring. Almost an eerie silence as the notorious one seems not so notorious right now.
"Fighting since I was a kid. No one lifted a lid. They all just turned a cheek. Was I that meek? I saw where I wanted to be. All they did was key, key on the past. That was where I needed a blast."
A few phrases with rhyming endings. Deacon speaks as the camera floats above him. His words echo eerily through the empty arena.
"I know that all sounded retarded, maybe that is why I simply just make the music and not really write the words. Maybe that is why I didn't go anywhere in the music industry, or the critics hated my hard work? If that is true, so be it. I am not worried about all that anymore honestly. I do music as a hobby now. It is more of a release from the stupidity that the chaotic world surrounds us with. Reality now is an opportunity, a chance. A chance that I have wanted and striven for since I decided to make this sport my profession."
Thomas rises to his feet slowly. His sight line remains straight ahead of him, toward the entrance area.
"Check it out....."
He points toward the big screen that suddenly begins to flicker to life. After a few strobe like blinks, and appears. It takes a moment to come into focus. The is the profile of James Williams' Twitter account.
"One of the four opponents I face at Phenomenon. James Williams. I really have nothing much to say about you man. Are you new to Pride? Have you come from somewhere else with some kind of major hype behind you? Whatever the case may be, you've got a tough task ahead of you in this fight. All of who you have to survive aren't gonna just let you float through this fight unscathed. I am one of them most definitely."
The screen flickers again. This time it falls upon the profile page on Twitter of Josh Anderson.
"Anderson. A man I am familiar with. James you are too. Spider? Not so sure, but I will get to you and Christian in a minute. Anderson, you were able to pull out the victory against me in our one on one battle about a month and a half ago. Ya think that is on my mind? Ya damn skippy. I want revenge, but it isn't all that is on my mind. I will fight to eliminate you if and when the opportunity presents itself."
Again the screen flickers, this time falling on Christian Michaels' Twitter profile.
"Christian, I respect you. You seem to be a respectable man. A good fighter. You were able to beat me last Ignition. Again, revenge on my mind when it comes to you but will it be all that I am thinking about? Nah, I want to win this battle. I want that title. You are merely an obstacle in my way in achieving that. I do wish you all the luck in the world to perform well, but I won't stand there and let you beat me."
Another flicker of the screen, this time falling on Spider's Twitter profile.
"Spider, a newcomer to this fight. One that could be the dark horse honestly. Will she fly in here and surprise us all? As long as I am in this match, she won't. Spider, you are fantastically talented and have proven that since arriving here in Pride. But honestly, you don't deserve to be a champion, at least not yet. It is my time. My championship reign will start at Phenomenon."
The screen flickers more, this time all Twitter profile images come into focus.
"I've said it repeatedly. I didn't come to Pride to be in second place. I didn't come here to be a star with no shine. Phenomenon will allow me to bring my goal to fruition. I didn't quite get there with the Pride title, but I will make it with this newly formed and created Coastal Championship."
Scene ends.
