Time has come. My time to rise to the occasion. I have spent the majority of my time within the confines of my garage gym in Vegas. Phenomenon was right around the corner up in Washington. As I work on some base maneuvers with my full weight dummy, in walks the light of my life, especially with some of my professional disappointments. Danni walks in quietly, with a sly smile on her face. I slam the dummy to the mat and smile toward her, she suddenly moves a handheld camera from behind her back.
"What's that Danni?"
She giggles.
"Well it's a camera babe."
"Why do ya got it?"
"Well baby, I wanted to record your training and see if you want to say anything about this big match you got coming up?"
I shake my head with a smile and walk toward her. I grab my hand towel and wipe the sweat from my forehead.
"Is this okay Deacon?"
I smile.
"Yes baby, it is fine but ya know I don't really enjoy all the camera things I gotta do."
"I know but we both know you gotta do it."
"Yeah..... Yeah."
I lean against the far wall across from her. She looked beautiful as always.
"What do you want to say to the fans about your four opponents at the big pay per view?"
She asks in her sweet voice. I am still amazed by how her and I have progressed our relationship since the beginning. I wipe more sweat from my forehead with a sigh and I look at the camera in her hand.
"Well there isn't much I can say to them without being overly aggressive and a bit out of my character. I could mention a little about how mister Michaels was able to achieve the victory over me at the last Ignition."
"Yeah, you were a bit upset over that weren't you?"
"Yeah I was but that is a part of this sport. I won't allow that disappointment to affect what I do inside that ring at Phenomenon."
I take a short step toward Danni. Her smile widens.
"I also know that Christian isn't my only opponent in this match. I have three others to contend with. There is Spider. Josh Anderson, and James Williams. Spider has made a name for herself well in this company. Williams? Well honestly I don't know all that much about him. He has jumped into the Pride ring and done very well."
"What about Josh Anderson?"
"Well he is pretty damn dominant. He has defeated me to boot. Will he be able to go through all of us and walk out as the first every Pride Pro Wrestling Coastal Champion? If I have my way he won't. I said it during the Lion's Pride Tournament, I am not in this company to come in second."
It was true. I am not running around this company to just run my mouth and look good in the ring. I am here to achieve greatness and shine. Be a Champion.
"This fight is an elimination style fight. Only one will walk out as the winner officially. Spider, you've done well since signing on in this company. You fell a little short against the Pride Champ. Understandable, I won't overlook ya. Michaels, you are a veteran. You've achieved greatness and are looking to move back into the spotlight. I won't overlook you. Anderson, you've run your mouth well, and you've been quite dominant inside the ring too. Most definitely not going to overlook ya. I won't fall victim to ya again. Williams, you've been on a roll. Good for ya. I won't let you continue that roll in this fight. I am going to make sure that I become the first Coastal Champion of Pride. I am not here to be a shining star with no gold. That belt is mine, all I gotta do is walk into Phenomenon and do what I know I can do. I am not losing for a third straight time."
I pause a moment.
"Now baby, let's shut that off and get to training, mmmmkay?"
"Is that all you wanted to say?"
I simply nod.
"Okay."
She giggles and shuts the view finder of the camera, gently sets it down before running at me and jumping. I catch her as I move from the wall. I smile as I look into her eyes and carry her to the mat where my dummy lays.
