”This episode of the Chaos-Pseudo show is made possible by various contributions and donors whom we vet very carefully. After all, we have no wish to be connected to any kind of perverts, warmongers or other selfishly ambitious people. Which unfortunately ruled out pretty much everyone with a net worth of 500K or more so please forgive us as it also means we don't get many contributions. Actually, to be perfectly honest, if you manage to get by our vetting process, you'll be the first. This year.”
We are once more on the set of the infamous new design of the Chaos Pseudo-Show but this time RC is already in front of the camera with the Pride title on a pedestal right next to him.
”And so the circle comes to its close. I said from the instant I won this title that there was only gonna be one outcome to this little game we've been playing. And I totally called it! Erron Wilder is back for round… ummmm, hold on… ummmm…”
RC counts on his fingers, then tries to draw symbols in the air before throwing his hands up and grabbing a white board from off camera where he begins to do several exaggerated complex calculations.
”Pi times 7… is the square root of the cube of 16… divided by 9… and carry the exponential… well I guess that's not exactly elegant but for Erron and I it looks like we are at round…”
He turns to face the camera and holds his hand out in front of the lens with three fingers up.
”Three, people. Three as in how many wishes you'd get from a genie. Or how many movies are released for a Star Wars saga at a time. Or how many Pride shows in it took for me to win the title. And how many Pride shows it took for Erron to come back around and get his shot. Look at it this way Erron, you're being consistent at least. Three is supposed to be a good number too. I mean three sides is supposed to be considered one of the most stable of construction features, which makes one wonder why only pyramids were built like triangles. I mean if castles had done the same, they probably wouldn't have been so vulnerable to sieges. So it only makes sense that my defense of the Pride title should also come in three stages.”
RC pulls down a screen and starts a projector. It starts with an of the brain.
”Stage one, mind games. By now Erron and I know each other well enough that he knows mind games won't work on me, but no doubt he's going to try anyway. And as he tries and fails at that, it'll frustrate him even more. So all my mind games will be is showing Erron his are useless. Stage two…”
An of a gold bar.
”... the bragging rights. Erron, you beat me in the Pride tournament, but that was a somewhat dubious win because of how the rules worked and wasn't even one on one. Then I came back in that ladder match and, again rather dubiously and unceremoniously, fell holding on to the title in my hand. Which means I didn't actually pin you. Since none of us have the real prize of a true one on one win this prize is worth a lot to me. And since I hold the title right now, I hold the advantage of winning those rights.”
The third slide is a combo shot of Daisy holding Kathleen and a random audience shot from the previous Ignition.
”The third stage is the people I fight for. The members of my Chaotix, the entirety of the Pride universe and of course my wife and my daughter. Erron has none of that and it's too bad really because it's not just belts and prizes that make the fight worth it if you got no one really to celebrate it with. The fans who go out there and cheer, or jeer, us on. The families we come home to to revel in the victory.”
The projector turns off and the screen goes up. RC lifts the title onto his shoulders.
”That's where a true win lies and that's where I am gonna end up Erron after that count goes one, two, three! Don't be too surprised Erron because it's never really about playing the game, you just better hope you can survive it.”
