Main Event
[Pride Television Championship]
Sammy Duke vs Luke Jackson vs Holly Rhodes
Sammy Duke, Luke Jackson, and Holly Rhodes all rose to the occasion at Trick or Treat, and won their way into contention for the PRIDE Television Championship. For Sammy Duke, not only did his first ever win land him a place in his first main event, but also his first championship opportunity. For Luke Jackson, the Television Championship opportunity is a return to form. He got off to a shaky start in Pride, but has promised big changes right around the corner. Perhaps those changes will lead him to a championship, but there are two competitors in his way, and one of them has been dominant since debuting. Holly Rhodes came into ReAwakening and put on a hell of a showing, coming up just short of advancing to the finals due to running into Julian Savell. After a bout with some bad officiating, she won her way into this match, and has set her sights on the Television Championship. Who is going to walk out as the first champion?
Showcase Contest
[Tables Match]
Merrick Henderson vs Deacon Thomas
We knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of when. On Ignition #001 Deacon's travel troubles stole away Merrick's chance to debut in the company. What resulted was a war of words that has will have lasted more than a month by the time these two step into the ring. As a result of Deacon not making it to their original match, Merrick upped the challenge with the addition of tables to the mix. After everything that has been said, and everything we have yet to hear, these two will do battle until one puts the other through a table. We expect this one to get messy, so those in the front few rows beware.
RC Tucker vs Spider
RC Tucker rose to the top of Pride Pro Wrestling when he came down with the PRIDE Championship at Trick or Treat. However, that moment of greatness should not come as a surprise. RC Tucker was the first individual to sign with Pride when it's doors reopened, and he impressed everyone back at ReAwakening. Since then he has scored back-to-back main event victories, which should have led him to the undisputed status of the best in Pride. Not everyone sees it that way, namely his opponent: Spider. Since her debut, she is the only individual to appear on each Pride event and walk out with a victory. Recently, she has pointed out that management have been squandering her talents at the bottom of the card simply because she has not spoken a word since signing her contract. Management have fired back with her biggest challenge to date. Can she back up her claims of being the best, or will RC Tucker prove to the world that Pride Pro Wrestling is his domain?
Erron Wilder vs DeMarcus Gresham
Erron Wilder impressed everyone when he came out of nowhere to win the Lion's Pride event at ReAwakening. Everyone was banking on a former star to come away with the prize, or maybe even a hometown hero. Erron made sure that those things never came to fruition and bulldozed his way to the finals (just ask Sammy Duke) before winning the whole thing. Back on RISE! Erron's pairing with RC Tucker was enough to overcome DeMarcus and Julian, but he again finds himself as part of their game against one another. Julian Savell has picked him to be DeMarcus' executioner ahead of their battle at Phenomenon. The Gifted One has had a rough run so far as a direct result of Julian's influence, so needs to get things turned around before it is too late. A win here could give him all of the momentum he needs to take down his rival.
Anushka Aalto vs Julian Savell
Anushka Aalto has faced two different kinds of opponents since debuting in Pride. The fans loved her respectful back and forth with Sammy Duke, and were on the edge of their seats for her war of words leading up to a match with Merrick Henderson. What did those matches have in common though? A win for the Israeli veteran. Now she squares off against Julian Savell after DeMarcus Gresham named her as the toughest challenge Julian could face in the company. Savell is coming off of a couple of matches that have not gone his way, but there is no trick to vile, or strategy too underhanded for Julian to use to get things going in the right direction. Nobody knows what to expect from these two veterans clashing, but if DeMarcus has it his way, it would include a loss for the former top dog of Pride.
Christian Michaels vs James Williams
It's not a comeback until you string a couple wins together, and that's exactly what Christian Michaels has done since stepping foot in Pride Pro Wrestling. His shocking win over Julian Savell got the attention of the new interim general manager, and this match was born. CM will find himself across the ring from the rookie that walked into Eliza's Fun House, and nearly walked out with a victory. One thing is for sure, both of these men know how to send a crowd home happy, so we fully expect this match to tear the roof off of the place. With the new GM making a list of possible Television Championship Contenders, a win here would certainly make a convincing case for either man.
Josh Anderson vs DRU Dahl vs Matthias Alexander
[Elimination Triple Threat]
Josh Anderson has had a rocky start, but managed to come away with a big win over Deacon Thomas at Trick or Treat. While Deacon moves onto a tables match, Josh finds himself up against two opponents that will test his endurance. The street fighter DRU Dahl was able to drop Oren Hamrick to the mat in his debut, despite a huge size difference. He may have come up short of making it to the main event this card, but can rebound with a win here. Finally, the two men will be joined in the ring by a Pride newcomer. Matthias Alexander will step into the ring and try to prove that he belongs, but against two men like DRU and Josh, there are no guarantees that he makes it out of the ring alive. With all three men needing to pick up a victory, this is the most unpredictable match of the night.
Kendall James vs Drew Simmons w/Faith Rivers
To the casual observer, there are no similarities between Kendall James and Drew Simmons. They could not have more different personalities. However, both of them advanced to the second round of the Lion's Pride Event before having their nights cut short. On Ignition #001 they both walked away with controversial victories after an officiating error and an unexpected injury. When it came time for Trick or Treat, both fell short of making it into the finals. They have taken the exact same path so far, but now that they are standing across the ring from one another, those paths are about to split. The winner of this one will take a step closer to the Pride Television Championship scene while the other might have to move towards the back of the line.
Abby Watkins vs Eliza Valentine
Eliza Valentine is damn good, nobody can take that away from her. However, all good things come at a price. For Eliza, that price has been a pleasant relationship with the management here in Pride. She has poked, and poked, and poked at everyone that has entered her line of fire. Whether it be canceled matches, replacement opponents, complaints about her position in the company, management, staff, or the Jet City Sports Lab, she has rubbed everyone the wrong way. Abby Watkins has stepped up to try and Eliza down a peg, and we all know that Eliza is going to be more than happy to get her hands on one of the Jet City students, even if it is not the one that she really wants.
