[LADDER MATCH FOR THE PRIDE CHAMPIONSHIP]
RC Tucker vs Erron Wilder
This is it ladies and gentlemen! By the end of the night we will have named our very first PRIDE Champion! Who will it be? RC Tucker made it all the way to the finals of the Lion's Pride Event, and even held control of that match for a big part of the night. However, Erron Wilder was the man that emerged victorious in that match. The two showed that they could co-exist at least long enough to take out the old guard and get guaranteed their chance at ultimate bragging rights. Both men will enter empty handed, but hanging fifteen feet above the ring is the reason that both of these men signed with Pride Pro Wrestling in the first place. Which of these two men will ascend to Pride greatness?
Showcase Contest
DeMarcus Gresham vs Oren Hamrick
DeMarcus Gresham ended the first Ignition with a loss, but the rivalry with Julian Savell finally boiled over, forcing security and Pride's announce team to take to the ring and separate the two veterans. No doubt that will be in the back of DeMarcus' mind as he walks into the ShoWare Center, however he needs to be focused on the man in front of him. Oren Hamrick made his extremely successful debut against DRU Dahl on the first episode of Ignition, and has showed backstage that he is not a fan of individuals getting a huge spotlight cast on them. Arguably, nobody has gotten that star treatment like DeMarcus Gresham, who has appeared to be Jason's handpicked future of Pride. When arguably the smartest man in Pride takes on the strongest, who walks out with a victory?
Julian Savell vs Christian Michaels
Julian Savell might have come up short alongside DeMarcus Gresham, but do not let it be said that he did not have fun doing it. It would seem that his actions have been focused on poking at DeMarcus Gresham, from playing spoiler in the Lion's Pride Event, to the back and forth during last Ignition's main event that led to security having to storm the ring. On the other hand, Christian Michaels seems to be having a good time without all of the underhanded trickery. The veteran made his successful debut on Ignition with a huge win over Josh Anderson, and looks to continue his winning ways against one of the top talents in the company. It is a clash of styles and attitudes, all taking place on Halloween!
Merrick Henderson vs Anushka Aalto
Everyone was excited to see what the fifteen year veteran had left in the tank to bring to Pride and she did not disappoint. In her first match on US soil, she walked away with a victory over the beating heart of the new Pride, Sammy Duke. She will now test herself against another Pride talent, and we assume this match is not going to be all sunshine and daisies. Merrick Henderson has not proven himself to be the nicest or most respectful person on the roster, and that was on full display when he challenged Deacon Thomas to a tables match last Ignition. Merrick's mind will definitely be on what Deacon has to say once he finds his way off of that cruise ship, but he better not overlook Anushka in the process. If she proved anything against Sammy Duke, it was that she came to Pride ready to take over.
Drew Simmons w/Faith Rivers vs Sammy Duke
Last week saw Drew Simmons tag with his girlfriend Faith Rivers in a victory over Luke Jackson and Holly Rhodes. It also saw a Pride Pro Wrestling referee JD Wright make an error that cost Holly and Luke their chance in the matchup. Drew is looking to prove that his winning ways were no fluke, but finds himself up against the entire #StandWithSammy movement. Sammy has found himself up against the top competition in Pride in back to back shows, first running the Lion's Pride winner in the first round of the tournament, and then the debuting Anushka Aalto on the first Ignition. He managed to prove that he is a quick learner though, handling his match with Anushka with class, and pushing the veteran during their match together. Could tonight be the night that Pride sees Sammy's hand raised in victory? Only time will tell.
Kendall James vs Holly Rhodes
It is easy to see what management was thinking with this one. Kendall James came into Ignition to prove a point. By the end of the night, she had won her submission match, but only through accidentally injuring her opponent while setting up her finisher. On the other hand, Holly Rhodes gave the Pride fans a dominating performance in her tag match against Drew Simmons and Faith Rivers but had her chance at victory snatched away from her due to bad officiating by JD Wright. The very same JD Wright that finds himself in a relationship with Kendall James. What will happen when these two clash inside of a Pride ring? We know for a fact that JD will not be refereeing this match, but our guess is his actions have consequences.
Josh Anderson vs Deacon Thomas
Josh Anderson technically made his debut by possibly murdering three talents at ReAwakening. Those individuals have not been seen or heard from in Pride since their untimely demise. His first match on Ignition saw him run into Christian Michaels, who definitely had more in the tank than Josh originally gave him credit for. We have no doubt that he is ready to move on from the loss, and he has a big challenge in front of him in the form of Deacon Thomas. Deacon missed the first Ignition, which he has been rumored to not be pleased about, as he was stranded on out a cruise ship. He looks to make an impact against a dangerous Josh Anderson, but also has to keep an eye out for Merrick Henderson, who has challenged him to, of all things, a tables match.
Luke Jackson vs Andrew "Dru" Dahl
Luke has been quiet since his return to Pride. He did battle with Kendall James in the Lion's Pride tournament, and should probably feel lucky that the rookie did not accidentally maim him after what we saw happen to Jessica Jones. Though he lost on the last Ignition, that was not entirely of his doing. His match saw bad officiating rob him of the chance to get back on the winning side of things. Likewise, DRU Dahl found himself up against an unstoppable and immovable object. DRU succeeded in taking Oren off of his feet, but maybe his playing to the crowd got the better of him as the giant was able to come back and take the victory for himself. With both men looking to do whatever it takes to bounce back, this match could end up stealing the show!
Spider vs Ollie Maverick
In the last couple of weeks Ollie Maverick has been as silent as his opponent this week. Ollie came up short against Eliza Valentine in the Lion's Pride Event after a heated exchange of words leading up to the match. He found his opponents in flux last week as his friend Jessica Nitoh departed the company, while Xavier Laroux ended up in a coma. He definitely has ground to make up if he wants to make his mark on Pride, and who better to take on than Spider? The silent Spider Chick has been on a roll since coming back to active competition, and has yet to pick up a loss. She is 2-0 in Pride alone, and will definitely be looking to make it three in a row when the show goes live in Jet City!
Eliza Valentine vs "The Icon" James Williams
[Eliza's House of Fun Match]
Management has said with the abolition of dark matches that each Pride event would kick off with in a huge way. It would appear that they were not joking. "The Icon" James Williams will be making his debut in what we can only say is the worst way. This match practically made itself from the moment that "The Human Video Game" put his name on a Pride contract. James Williams appears more than capable of handling himself in the ring, but something tells us that his attitude and Eliza's will clash. It wouldn't be the Halloween show without some kind of nod to the holiday, so Jason Halich has declared that this match will be contested under 'Eliza's House of Fun' rules. What does that mean exactly? We are not entirely sure ourselves, but it sounds painful.
