Main Event
DeMarcus Gresham & Julian Savell vs RC Tucker & Erron Wilder
Strange bedfellows indeed. DeMarcus Gresham and Julian Savell obviously have their unresolved issues from the last run of Pride, but add to them that Julian Savell cost DeMarcus the win in the Lion's Pride Finals and they make for a combustible team. Can the two of them co-exist in a match said to have Pride Championship ramifications? Both men are hyper focused on picking up right where they left off in Pride. To do that they will have to get along, at least for a night. If not, their opponents are sure to take advantage. Erron Wilder walked away the winner of the Lion's Pride Event, and looked impressive through all three rounds. He is joined by RC Tucker, who looked poised to win the whole thing as well. Can a tactical genius like Erron mesh well with the chaos RC Tucker brings to the fold? Only time will tell.
Showcase Contest
[NO DQ]
Eliza Valentine vs Xavier Laroux
The 'Card Subject To Change' note is in effect! After a heated social media exchange, management was made to step in and alter the card. On one hand, Eliza Valentine asked for an opponent capable of handling her verbal assault, who could challenge her in the ring. Lucky for her, Pride is home to Seattle's own Xavier Laroux, a man known to take no prisoners on a microphone or in a ring. These two are as hostile and violent as they come. Pride cannot wait to see them tear each other apart!
Anushka Aalto vs Sammy Duke
The whole world was surprised when it was Anushka Aalto's name appeared on the the main screen at ReAwakening. According to Jason Halich, during meetings there was only one name that kept popping up. Anushka wanted to make her debut against someone that many consider to be not only the underdog of Pride, but the very heart of this new version of the company. The fans were behind him in the Lion's Pride Event, unfortunately he ran into the eventual winner in the first round. Sammy and Anushka seem like two people who would be friends under any other circumstances, but on the first Ignition they find themselves across the ring from one another.
Ollie Maverick vs Jessica Nitoh
The other side of 'Card Subject To Change' switch comes from Jessica Nitoh's camp. Whoever booked this one has a sick sense of humor. Going from a match made for Jessica to avenge her fellow videogame enthusiast, she finds herself standing across the ring from him instead!
Kendall James vs Jessica Jones
[SUBMISSION MATCH]
Kendall James made it to the second round at ReAwakening before her night was cut short. Jessica Jones on the other hand drew the short straw, getting eliminated by RC Tucker on his way to the finals. Both women were not happy following their losses, and both are ready to hurt whoever gets put in their path. What better way to ensure that you hurt your opponent than forcing them to tap out? The only way that either woman is walking out with a victory in this one is by making their opponent submit to their will. Both women are gifted technical wrestlers with a connection to the Jet City Sports Lab so this one has all the makings of stealing the show!
Drew Simmons & Faith Rivers vs Luke Jackson & Holly Rhodes
Luke Jackson fell short against rookie Kendall James while Holly Rhodes had her night end by Julian Savell's hands. However, together they make quite the combination of power and speed. The duo look to bounce back against Pride's favorite couple, Drew Simmons and Faith Rivers. Drew took some serious damage to his knee from Anica Townsend at ReAwakening, which Eliza Valentine would take advantage of on her way to the finals. His girlfriend, Faith Rivers, was only a second away from stopping Spider from picking up the win in the Six Pack Challenge. With these two having just slight near misses at our big relaunch, you have to think they are ready to walk out of Ignition with their first wins.
Spider vs Riot
Spider picked up a victory in the showcase match at ReAwakening, but made more of an impression on roster member Sammy Duke backstage when she would not speak to him. I think someone forgot to tell Sammy not to take it personally. In any case, Spider looks to continue her winning ways against a woman that Pride fans met at ReAwakening, even though she did not step between the ropes. Riot made her presence known backstage, announcing that she was signed with Pride and anxious to get started. Who better to introduce her to Pride than a woman who just made a successful debut at ReAwakening?
Merrick Henderson vs Deacon Thomas
Deacon Thomas definitely made an impression at ReAwakening. His match with Jessica Nitoh was enough to get management's attention, but unfortunately he came up short against DeMarcus Gresham. That is nothing to feel bad about though, if not for Julian Savell, DeMarcus Gresham would have walked away the winner of the entire tournament! Merrick Henderson made his intention to sign with Pride known at ReAwakening, and after a lengthy discussion about the roster, is said to have personally asked for this shot against someone he feels like can challenge his submission style with superior striking. Not wanting to deny him the opportunity to prove himself, Jason Halich and Phillip Ripley signed the contract to have these two men open up the show in front of a capacity crowd at the ShoWare Center.
