So, as all of you know, the show is set to be going up two hours from now, here are the couple of issues at hand for the moment.
I simply do not have enough segments to post the show. There is not even enough currently turned in to put one between each of the matches. There were 26 people booked on this card, and a few newcomers that were not booked that sent in segments. I was not thinking that getting segments was going to be an issue, at least not simply having one between each match. That should have been easy. I understand people have other commitments. I understand working. I understand having kids. That is why I am not irritated about it, just surprised by it. I also realize that the nature of this card makes it extremely difficult to do segments. People are kind of handcuffed on what they can do for segments because they do not know how far their character will be going in the tournament. It has limited everyone's ability to do segments without being handed spoilers. That one is on me.
Secondly, I was supposed to have a little support match writing for this card. In addition, as many of you heard, my phone, with a decent amount of the show written in notepads, was stolen last week. So I not only had to rewrite large chunks, but also pick up parts that others were supposed to do. I lost a ton of time because of those two things. As it stands, the Lion's Pride Final, and what was set to be the opening kickoff matches have not been written to this point. I could work on them now, but I am a little fried from doing the other 15 so far, and getting the show together and coded.
Here is the solution that I am offering.
Tonight, as planned, at 11 eastern, I am going to put up the results from the first round. I have a couple segments to get added, but it is already like a 15,000 word show by itself. You guys can read it, play it up on social media, do the whole work. It also gives everyone the opportunity to write segments from their characters on the show, after the conclusion of the first round. Like I said, as of right now, I could not even post the second round and final, because there are just not enough segments to separate matches, and I cannot possibly write enough to fill up the spots. The first round only maxed out because of adding segments I already wrote. I am not going to force out results that are just matches and nothing else, because it is going to take away from the overall quality. I want things to look and flow well. I want people to enjoy reading them. As of right now, the five second round matches have nothing to go between them. It would be an incredibly boring read. I am not going to do that to any of you or myself after all of the hard work that everyone has put into it.
As soon as I finish the final, which will be around noon tomorrow, as long as there are enough segments to post, the second round, finals, and six pack challenge will go up as a Part II of ReAwakening. Because of everyone that has already done segments mentioning other matches happening later in the night, I cannot IC break the show into two nights, otherwise I would.
This will not impact the next cycle of RPs at all. Typically full results will go up Tuesday, and a new card on Wednesday. It just show happens that half of this show will be delayed, but we will still get a new card tomorrow night.
I understand that this is going to irritate some people. Nobody likes late results. I personally hate that I have to do it. This is not going to be a regular thing. This card was massive. It was supposed to be special. I am not willing to sacrifice the quality in order to put it up tonight without any segments.
So read the first round shortly, enjoy it, if it inspires you to get creative, do a segment with your character commenting on it, or other segments people did. There are so many people that had late segments, or messaged me saying they just did not have enough time today to get one done. I am hoping that doing things this way is more helpful than hurtful. If you hate it, I am sorry. If it frustrates you, know that it will not be the norm. I apologize for things not going as planned, but neither of these situations are things that I foresaw happening.
